Science, Health and Public Policy for Active Living
The International Scientific Symposium marks the official opening of Mountain Games Cyprus 2026, establishing the scientific, European and societal framework of the event. Bringing together researchers, policymakers, public health organisations, sports institutions, project partners and practitioners, the Symposium explores how evidence-based policies and cross-sector collaboration can support healthier, more active and inclusive communities.
The programme focuses on the role of physical activity in improving public health, preventing disease, promoting healthy childhood development, advancing inclusion and equal access in sport, and supporting active and healthy ageing. Through expert presentations and panel discussions, participants will exchange knowledge, share best practices and discuss practical approaches to achieving these common goals.
