About Mountain Games

The Mountain Games Cyprus 2026 treats mountain regions not as isolated or lagging peripheries, but as vibrant ecosystems of rich natural, social, and cultural value. This project utilizes the mountains as an open-air arena for exercise, well-being, lifelong learning, and deep social cohesion.

Mission & Vision

Universal Access: Breaking down barriers of age, social background, or fitness level to promote lifelong physical activity.

Cross-Sectoral Synergy: Combining sport, public health, education, and sustainable tourism around a singular, unified vision.

Endogenous Growth: Driving eco-friendly tourism and highlighting local production inside mountain communities.

This initiative directly aligns with major European frameworks, including the "HealthyLifestyle4All" initiative, the Council's Health-Enhancing Physical Activity (HEPA) guidelines, and the promotion of traditional sports and games.
